About Reality Engineer

My name’s Brandon, I’m the creator, owner and writer of this site. I’m a mechanical engineer. I decided to start a blog because I think I can be helpful to rookie engineers and engineering students, I tend to go on rants about a wide spectrum of topics, and I’m more or less fine with making an ass out of myself in front of complete strangers if it can benefit others.

At the very start, I intended to make this website about life hacking for engineers and engineering students, and most of my content is made from an engineer’s perspective. But, I realized that  my content could easily apply to many people outside engineering. Reality Engineer is focused on life hacking and personal development, on engineering your body and mind for peak performance and output. I think this is the single most influential factor in helping you accomplish your goals and living the life you want to live.

When I was a student, I worked hard to graduate. Really hard. So hard, I actually started losing my hair! (Most of it came back) In hindsight, there were a over million things I could’ve done differently to have more fun, learn more, and get a lot more accomplished. I want to share what I’ve learned to help others, and all of the information on this site is free of charge and open to anyone.

My blog talks about mindsets, productivity boosting, honest job hunting tips, great books to read, and how to maximize the benefits of caffeine to aid in performance boosting. I also write a little bit about engineering.

My approach to creating content is conversationally, as if we’re talking face-to-face. I don’t consider myself all that different from you. I write from the context that I’m talking to a friend. I’m telling you my opinions and discoveries, and I’m interested in hearing your opinion.

I also feature affiliate links for products that either I’ve used personally and/or have gotten near perfect reviews from hundreds of users. If you choose to purchase, I will earn a commission, at no additional cost to you.
